Urchins

I did this painting in June 2006. It was for an art independant study project for class, and we had to paint a social issue, so I painted a picture of street urchins (street rats, steet kids, etc), especially in countires like Russia, the Ukraine, etc.

there was a description behind everything in the pic, but I can't remember the specifics anymore, except that a main focus of the painting + social issue is homelessness as a result of sexual preference, increasing cost of living on poorer families, etc. as well as drug use/dependancy as either a result of being homeless or even being the cause of it.



Done in acrylics. This painting is pretty big... around 3 feet by 2.5 feet, so this is just a digital picture of it, sorry.
