Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

◆When did you start drawing?
I've always drawn….. at first it was pictures of ballerinas and horses, and now I can't draw a horse to save my life.

◆Which hand do you use for drawing?
Right

◆Which is easier to draw - male or female?
The guys I draw all look like chicks…so I guess females. Though I usually prefer drawing said girly men.

◆Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
I love drawing hair so I don't really notice the difficulty. THOUGH super-short hair is kinda hard.

◆Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
I never even notice if I draw to the right or left more…. I think they're both sorta easy…

◆Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
I apparently have an addiction for drawing profiles, but I think it's harder to draw then the front view. Especially when it comes time to color.

◆What do you have problems in drawing?
Perspective, foreshortening, movement, a bunch of stuff!

◆What do you like to draw?
People! I love drawing my original characters…but I hardly ever post/finish them ;_; (but I do like fanart too)

◆Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
I love both. I'm faster at traditional painting then I am at digital though…:c

◆Where do you start drawing from?
usually somewhere on the face…either the outline or the eyes.

◆What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
I draw the heads too big, the arms and legs too long, and big hands…a bunch of other stuff too. I know it's not correct, but I prefer the look more.

◆Any tips for coloring/shading?
I dunno ;_;….i use a lot of layers? Don't use burn/dodge if you can avoid it…uhhh, don't forget about your lightsource?

◆How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
foreverrrrrrr because I get bored of everything after 20 mins. because I can't sit still.

◆What music do you listen to while you draw?
I put my itunes on shuffle, and I have almost 5000 songs from very mixed genres, so it depends. If I want to finish a piece quicker though I'll put on some ff piano/classical/orchestra/opera(/Gackt….DON'T JUDGE MEEEE)…I don't know why but I get so in the zone while listening to those genres and can work for HOURS.

◆How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
forever. Unless it's headshots then the hardest decision is which way the head will face.

◆Your favorite drawing utensils?
Tablet. Unless it's traditional, then mechanical pencil and paint.

◆Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
My favorite color is 'kingdomhearts' blue which is basically what I call any shade of aqua-like blue EVER. I love purple too (actually I love every color for the most part). The colors I seem to be using the most are varying shades of pink (which ironically is my least favorite color…AS I HATE MOST PINKS)

◆Your favorite style(s)?
I seriously love everything. It's more about the excecution to me, and the idea, meaning, composition. Though I do love certain coloring styles a lot….i don't know how to describe them.

◆What kind of artist are you aiming for?
I don't know….a nice one ;_;?
